Installing a filter on each computer is time-consuming and labor-intensive, as it requires purchasing a group of licenses for school, which could be very expensive. The principle of a filter’s work is the following: when you request a particular site of distracting subjects, which are added to the restriction list, the connection gets interrupted and you see a connection error. For example, a filter may be installed directly on school computers. There are different tools used for blocking websites at school. But what about Internet restrictions at schools and other educational institutions? Often, most entertainment sites or sites of distracting subjects are blocked by the network administrator.

Block all other apps & extensions-Users can only install the apps and extensions that you allow.In our previous article, we considered the problem of Internet censorship implemented by government or certain web-services themselves, for example, by Hulu or Netflix. Users can only install apps from the Google Play store that you allow. Allow all other apps and extensions-Users can install all apps and extensions from the Google Play store and Chrome Web Store except the ones that you block. Note: Only the primary account user can install apps and extensions from the Google Play store. Choose what type of apps that you want to let users install. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit. To apply the setting to all users and enrolled browsers, leave the top organizational unit selected. Click Apps & extensions Users & browsers. Allow all apps but those you want to blockįrom the Admin console Home page, go to Devices Chrome. For details, see Understand when settings apply. Note: Even if Chrome Web Store service is turned off, force-installed apps and extensions continue to automatically install and users can still sideload extensions.Ĭan apply for signed-in users on any device or enrolled browsers on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Make sure that the Chrome Web Store service is turned on. To apply settings for Chrome Browser users on Windows, Mac, or Linux computers, turn on Chrome Browser management for the organizational unit that they belong to. To make settings for a specific group of users or enrolled Chrome Browsers, put the user accounts or browsers in an organizational unit.
